The CASA Volunteer

CASA Volunteers come from many different places and all walks of life. From captains of industry to domestic engineers, from those with advanced degrees to extensive life experiences, the successful volunteer is one who shares the passion and commitment to advocate for children.

Being a CASA volunteer does not require any special education or background, simply the desire to help abused and neglected children find safe, permanent homes.

So what does it take to become a CASA volunteer?
  • The first step: Every volunteer must first pass a background check and complete a 30-hour training course.
  • After successfully completing the training, the volunteer is assigned their first case. The average time commitment is approximately 2 - 10 hours per month.
  •  Volunteers are asked to commit to the case until it is closed. The average case lasts about a year and a half.

CASA volunteers are supervised every step of the way and always have resources readily available.
