Training Overview
Each CASA volunteer must complete a comprehensive 30 hour training program. We offer several training sessions throughout the year to accommodate our volunteers. Most training occurs in our 100 Grove Street Worcester Headquarters. Occasionally, we take our training on the road to alternate sites near the juvenile courts we service.
Training is conducted by the
CASA
Worcester
County staff. In order to best prepare our volunteers for the work ahead, we cover such topics as the Roles and Responsibilities of CASA, The Court System, The Department of Children and Families,
Case
Building, Interviewing, Report Writing and Understanding the Children We Serve. Additionally, veteran volunteers return for a CASA panel to answer questions and relay actual case experiences.
Each volunteer is assigned a Case Supervisor who provides assistance and guidance throughout the life of the case. Any and all administrative assistance such as copying, faxing and messaging is also provided by the CASA office.
