Prospective Volunteers

Would YOU like to become a CASA Volunteer?

Here’s how:

1.  Complete the online application or download the PDF version to email / fax

2.  Come to the CASA office for an intake interview.

3.  Pass a background check.

4.  Complete a 30-hour training course. Offered four or more times each year, the course provides a fascinating, intensive overview which includes:

  • Child Protection: CASA, the Courts, & the Worcester County Department of Children and Families
  • Introduction to the needs of the children we serve
  • Our interviewing & investigation techniques
  • Report writing
  • Panel discussion with experienced CASA Volunteers

You will receive your first case assignment once you successfully complete the training course.  A staff case manager will assist you every step of the way and provide any resources you need.

The average time commitment is approximately 10-15 hours per month.  For the sake of the children involved, we ask that volunteers commit to the case until it is closed.  The typical case lasts about 9-15 months.
